PICC Resource education programs are designed for the continuing education of nursing health care professionals.

PICC Resource Associates educators offer continuing education in infusion and vascular access procedures. Continuing education differs from vocational education. The main difference is that continuing education is designed to educate health professionals and add to the professional's existing knowledge and skills. Continuing education is not offered to the general public. Vocational training by colleges and vocational schools is open to the general public to prepare to enter a new vocation.

PICC Resource is an approved provider of continuing nursing education through the Florida Board of Nursing: Educational Provider number 50-26716. With the exception of a few states that require in-state approval for CE credits (such as California) , the CE credits in nursing contact hours granted from PICC Resource continuing education programs are accepted nationally. The quality of nursing continuing education (CE) providers and programs is assured when the programs are accredited by state regulatory boards or the American Nurses Credentialing Corporation. 

Our director of education  and lead instructor has a master degree in nursing education, is board certified in vascular access by the Vascular Access Certification Corporation (VACC), and nationally certified as an infusion specialist by the Infusion Nursing Certification Corporation (INCC). Our instructors are vascular access experts with exceptional nursing experience in infusion nursing and vascular access.

Our online classes are designed to fit your schedule. The online courses are interactive and are based on evidence-based theory . The classes are available 24/7 for a full year after sign up.

To meet best practice standards, the first step to becoming competent to insert PICC lines is to complete a PICC insertion education program that meets national standards and guidelines.

The next step after completing class training is to perform PICC insertions under the supervision of an experienced PICC clinician. Clinicians are deemed "PICC qualified" to perform PICC insertion procedures once the clinician is deemed independent and competent in the procedure per employing facility policies.

After becoming independent in performing PICC insertion procedures with a preceptor and inserting a minimum of 25 PICC catheters, clinicians may optionally take an exam through a private company to further verify competency in the procedure,

Nurses working in the field of infusion and/or vascular access that seek to expand their professional options - may qualify to take the exam for national certification as an infusion specialist and/or board certification as a vascular access specialist through national professional specialty organizations.

PICC Resource has implemented multiple COVID-19 protocols including classroom and equipment cleaning protocols, and limiting the number of attendees to our in-person class workshops.  Additionally, our classroom has been refitted with individual desks with barrier shields, and seating set  to accommodate social distancing. PICC Resource instructors and assistants wear masks and follow additional precautions to prevent COVID-19 spread. We ask  class attendees to wear a mask upon entering the classroom and during training sessions when not otherwise protected.
